ABOUT

RecommendBox is a service that helps friends to share recommendations. RecommendBox is owned and run by London UK based company Recommendations Ltd.

So why does the world need RecommendBox?

Well we hope that RecommendBox will help in a few areas:

  • People just aren't that good at sharing recommendations, even with the people closest to them. RecommendBox is designed to encourage friends to share recommendations by providing a simple and efficient way of doing so.
  • You don't always know what your friends want recommendations for so RecommendBox let's users request recommendations from their friends.
  • People tend to only recommend things to the people closest to them. RecommendBox hopes to change that and encourage people to share recommendation with more of their friends, and not just those closest to them.
  • People often forget things that are recommended to them. RecommendBox acts as an archive.

RecommendBox has been launched with the core functionality that allows friends to share recommendations. We have plans to add lots of great stuff which will improve your flow of recommendations. If there is anything that you would like to see on RecommendBox please don't hesitate to let us know.

Co-founder - Scott Rutherford

Scott

Scott has had what is best described as an interesting (well at least he likes to think so) path through life so far. From a studying music in Salford, to DJ'ing all over the country, to doing a PhD in Particle Physics at CERN in Geneva (otherwise known as snowboarding a lot) and finally co-founding his first software company Axomic in 2002.

Scott left Axomic after 3 years (its still going though!!) to spend some time consulting and saving money for the next idea. However, shortly after that he met Paul Birch (of Birthday Alarm and Bebo fame) and joined him in his new venture Cominded. At the start of 2008, Scott left Cominded to form Recommendations Ltd

Investment
