thanksgiving-dinnerThe focal point of the Thanksgiving party is the gathering of the whole family to share a meal with one another that they probably have not done for a very long time. That is why on Thanksgiving, hosts of the celebration prepare a large meal to accommodate the whole family. The celebration is never complete without the oven-roasted turkey at the center of the dinner table. The abundance of turkey during the days when Thanksgiving was initially celebrated marked the permanent membership of this voluptuous bird in the dinner table during the Thanksgiving feast. Aside from that, a practical reason could be that the large size of a turkey will surely be sufficient to feed even a large clan.

The Thanksgiving dinner is sometimes deemed to have a similarity with the dinner shared by the family on Christmas Eve. But the significant differences on the two are that on Thanksgiving, family members are not expected to sit down in front of a furnace to exchange gifts and the celebration of the two events greatly differs on the mood set. During Thanksgiving dinner, the ambience is more of feeling thankful and gratified for all the good things that came along all throughout the year while on Christmas Eve dinner, families share a meal to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Though there may be a difference on celebrating these two special events, the dining experience is somewhat similar. The feeling of ease and comfort is attained with your family celebrating around you. The reasons may be different but it really does not matter for what is really important is that you celebrate these two occasions with the people dearest to your heart.
